Our Productions

Each year we will do a variety of shows and presentations that will allow our students the experience of performing before an audience. Our philosophy for our presentations is not to create stars that will go to Broadway or films. While that has happened a very few times, it is not our goal.

Using the theater as a vehicle to introduce life skills is our primary focus. So much can be learned during a production from becoming responsible with your costumes to being a dependable performer: being on time, taking instruction and encouraging others. Being kind, courteous and thoughtful are skills we try to mirror for our students, so they know it comes from the top and none of us are allowed to be critical, or difficult with others.

We all work as a team and for the time you are with us you are part of the CTAP family.

Our Classes

By Nicholas Alexander March 1, 2024
Adult Acting 18 - 100: Ms. Jennifer What started as a simple idea for parents, grandparents, and older siblings has grown into a sweet family of dedicated adult performers who learn, laugh, and grow together each week. This fall, we’ll be preparing for our first full-length production, Clue, to be performed in January as a fundraiser for CTAP. Our Thursday evening classes combine rehearsals with the exploration of a variety of acting techniques—always with plenty of fun and encouragement, especially for newcomers. Whether you’re brand new to the stage or a seasoned actor, we’d love for you to join our family. Thursday 4:30-6:30

Contemporary Jazz - The Dance of the Newsie 13-18: Ms. Kendall This high-energy class introduces students to the exciting world of contemporary jazz, a dance style rooted in storytelling through movement. Dancers will learn how to express emotion, character, and narrative with their bodies while building strength, rhythm, and flexibility. In addition to exploring the artistry of contemporary jazz, this class will directly prepare students with the essential dance skills they’ll need for our spring production of Newsies. Survey of Musical Theater 12-18: Ms. Emily This fun and interactive course takes students on a journey through the history of musical theater, from classic Golden Age films to modern Broadway hits. Each week highlights a new theme—whether it’s guessing vintage movie plots, exploring the works of Rodgers & Hammerstein, Sondheim, and Andrew Lloyd Webber, or celebrating iconic performers and Tony-winning shows. Students will engage through games, skits, short performances and presentations, building confidence in performance while learning theater history. The course culminates in a student-led showcase featuring favorite moments from class. Tuesday 4:30-6:30
