Fall 2025 Classes

REGISTRATION OPENS AUGUST 3 AT 12PM

Welcome to CTAP classes. Our classes are designed to introduce and foster a love of the arts for your child. Keep in mind that our classes all have something to offer to help create more confident performers. We allow you to take the same class or the same teacher twice. At that point we ask that you find another class to take. Please feel free to ask Mrs. Lloyd when making your choice. Keep in mind that you need to seek out your class with thoughts on where you really want or need to grow. If you are a confident actor, dance this time. If dancing is your thing, maybe sing or act in some way. We know that you enjoy certain teachers, but all of our teachers are wonderful and talented. Any class that has a prerequisite may be appealed by speaking to Mrs. Lloyd. We want to do what’s best for each of you. Our classes are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Murrieta Church of Christ at 24750 Lincoln Ave, Murrieta CA. 92562 beginning August 19 and 21. Classes are from 4:30-6:30pm or 7:00-9:00pm. Each session begins with a parent meeting on the first day of classes. Showcases for the Fall session are October 14 and 16. The showcase is a time for each class to share a bit of what they have learned. Students will perform on the night of their class. This is a fun event for family and friends that celebrates the end of the session.

Adult Acting 18 - 100: Ms. Jennifer A couple of years ago, I thought maybe our parents and perhaps grandparents or older siblings might enjoy an acting class. Well, I don’t know if they do, but I love it. Our little family of actors just work and learn. Don’t forget the laughter. What a blessing. We are going to be putting up our first full length production in November. CLUE . We will be having rehearsals and our Thursday night class will include lots of fun acting techniques, especially if we have some newcomers which we would love. Thursday 4:30-6:30

Dance, Dance, Dance: 8-11 Ms. Kendall This is a class designed to teach students to feel more comfortable with their dance steps and what that learning looks like. Kendall has been with us for a long while as a student and we are thrilled she will be teaching. Kendall will be putting together a group of steps that go with various musical theater shows and teaching you how it works all together for performance. If you want to learn more about dance and have a whole boatload of fun, come on in and dance, dance, dance. You can have some dance experience or not so much: you are all welcome! This is an entry level class. Thursday 4:30-6:30

Creating Faces: 11-18 Ms. Kelsey Kelsey is thrilled to be teaching this class, and those of you who have done a show or two have definitely run into her makeup sponge in the makeup room. The class is designed for those who want to learn the fundamental techniques of stage makeup, character enhancements and more advanced techniques. We will cover basic knowledge as well because it is so important to know what the blank slate should look like, as we add to the face canvas. Transforming the performers for the stage, considering both the practical needs as well as stage lighting and the artistic demands of the character will all be part of the process. If you sign up for class, please bring your own makeup wipes and your makeup bag, with all of the products that you use. Face wipes, mascara and eyeliner are a must. Thursday 4:30-6:30

Intermediate Improv: 11-18 Ms. Brittny Improv is not easy and has many steps that lead to the full presentation. In this class, we are learning how to present Improv and what that looks like to the audience. This is a mature acting class that adds so much volume to the course that sometimes look like a “fly by the seat of your pants” situation. Your teacher is an excellent actor and knows how to mesh things together so that you shine as performers who have all types of Improv tools in your pocket to give a complete look at an Improv showcase. Be ready to learn and enjoy. One Improv class with CTAP or another program is required. Thursday 4:30-6:30

Let's Sing!: 8-12 Mr. Danny When you join CTAP, you know there is going to be singing required. There are so many ways to do that. As we become educated in our skills, there is so much more to singing than just having a pretty voice. In this class, you will learn how to use the instrument that God has gifted you in the best possible way. You will learn to listen and actually hear other people sing and know where you vocally “fit in” in the process. Ensemble work is the key to good musicals, and this class helps you learn what this sounds like. (Make sure you have taken Triple Threat or another entry class before choosing this one). Thursday 4:30-6:30

The Magic of Acting: 8-11 Ms. Tracy This class will give our younger students the opportunity to do a little character study and bring our acting to life. We have such limited time when building a show to rehearse our characters, which brings them to life on stage. If we start young, they have a base to work from and all the fun and creativity that comes with it. Tracy has so many teaching techniques to help the actors learn how to use their own ideas to bring characters to the stage. There will be acting exercises, fun games, scenes and monologues to help you all prepare for an awesome showcase. Tuesday 4:30-6:30

Ensemble Magic: 11-18 Mr. Danny This class is so important. Vocals in any program take a front seat because they have so much quality… if they are done correctly. Come and sing with all your character and your vocal skills and prepare to learn more. We are moving toward great ensemble casts and we want to continue to keep growing. Learning how to sing harmony and present as one voice is so important. At the same time focusing on the character you have become for your performance is critical. So let's learn how to put these together so we are not only having a great time, but blessing our audience as well. The presentation is going to be different from our last class, so that will be fun as well. Mr.Danny has some great ideas.(Must have taken two vocal classes.) Thursday 7:00-9:00

Acting in Musical Theater: 11-18 Ms. Madisen Acting in musical theater is so important, but sometimes we are so busy we leave that bit till the last and unfortunately sometimes miss the mark. Madisen will teach you how to sing and act your character from the beginning, not leaving your study to be thrown in at the end, but to carry it with you throughout your rehearsal. Come join this class and learn some great techniques. Thursday 7:00-9:00

Advanced Musical Theater 12-18: Ms. Maddy Advanced Musical Theater: 12-18: (Must have at least 3 CTAP or comparable classes before entering this advanced class) Come prepared to work, have fun and learn. One of the things I personally notice when our musicals go to the stage or if you are performing at another company is how much confidence and performance style is learned and established in this type of class. Being aware of who is taking what class, I can pick out our students and their talent range right away. Keep adding to your physical resume by choosing classes to enhance your skill while doing what you love. Tuesday 4:30-6:30

Creative Writing for the Stage: 11-18 Ms. Rachel Join this creative writing class and explore how to bring your original stories to life on stage. You’ll learn how to create characters we can’t help but root for, write dialogue that snaps, and build tension that keeps the audience on the edge of their seats. We’ll dive into the behind-the-scenes process of some Broadway shows, read scenes with a writer's eye, and experiment with drafting and polishing your own original work. By understanding what makes a scene tick, you’ll become a stronger writer and a more confident actor, able to make bold choices and bring deeper motivation to every role. Whether you are an actor, a writer or both, this class will help you discover the power of story telling on stage and get your scene performance ready for showcase! Tuesday 4:30-6:30
