Advanced Acting: Subtlety for Stage & Screen 11-18: Mr. Pat


This advanced course is designed for actors ready to refine their craft and explore the art of nuanced, truthful performance. Students will learn how to adjust their technique for both stage and camera, focusing on emotional authenticity, active listening, and the power of stillness. Through challenging scene work, on-camera exercises, and feedback sessions, actors will develop the sensitivity and control needed to bring depth and realism to every role. You must have taken at least two CTAP acting classes and/or been in at least two CTAP productions.

Advanced Acting: Long-Form Improv 13-18: Ms. Brittny Dive deeper into the art of improvisation with this advanced class focused on long-form scene work and storytelling. Students will learn to create rich characters, develop sustained narratives, and build entire worlds on stage—all without a script. Emphasizing emotional truth, strong ensemble connection, and quick thinking, this course challenges actors to trust their instincts and craft compelling performances that flow naturally from moment to moment. Acting in Musical Theater 11-18: Ms. Madisen Acting in musical theater is so important, but sometimes we are so busy we leave that bit till the last and unfortunately sometimes miss the mark. Madisen will teach you how to sing and act your character from the beginning, not leaving your study to be thrown in at the end, but to carry it with you throughout your rehearsal. Adult Acting 18 - 100: Ms. Jennifer What started as a simple idea for parents, grandparents, and older siblings has grown into a sweet family of dedicated adult performers who learn, laugh, and grow together each week. This fall, we’ll be preparing for our first full-length production, Clue, to be performed in April as a fundraiser for CTAP. Our Thursday evening classes combine rehearsals with the exploration of a variety of acting techniques—always with plenty of fun and encouragement, especially for newcomers. Let's Sing 8-12: Mr. Danny When you join CTAP, you know there is going to be singing required. There are so many ways to do that. As we become educated in our skills, there is so much more to singing than just having a pretty voice. In this class, you will learn how to use the instrument that God has gifted you in the best possible way. You will learn to listen to other people sing and know where you vocally “fit in” in the process. Ensemble work is the key to good musicals, and this class helps you learn what this sounds like. (Make sure you have taken Triple Threat or another entry class before choosing this one). Thursday 4:30-6:30

This energetic course explores a wide range of styles that have shaped Broadway’s most iconic productions, including jazz, tap, ballet for musical theater, contemporary, Fosse-style jazz, Latin-inspired movement, Charleston, swing, soft shoe, and modern. Students will learn choreography inspired by classic and contemporary musicals while developing rhythm, coordination, storytelling through movement, and stage presence.
